Undergoing maintenance

The site is being streamlined and tidied up and hopefully some of the bugs are being ironed out. Comments and the archives don't work right now, so please just enjoy reading non-interactively. Next week is Golden Week in Japan, so I've finally got the free time to sort it all out. I hope. It's going to be a complete top-to-bottom overhaul, though. Hold on tight.
